FSI Giving Back

Community Support
FSI is a firm believer in giving back to the community, and since our inception we have looked for opportunities to demonstrate that commitment in tangible ways. Whether it's encouraging employees to give blood to the American Red Cross, supporting local crisis centers, or working with local schools to help give our kids a better education, FSI enjoys giving back. Here are some of our favorites.

FSI Racing for the Cure 2013 2013 Race For The Cure
An annual event that keeps getting bigger and bigger. Our 2013 team had close to 40 members, all doing their part to race for a cure for breast cancer. FSI employees, their families and friends are all encouraged to join the team each year.

Every dollar raised to fund cancer research brings us closer to a cure, and the more Hope gets spread around.
2013 Bowling for the Battle
FSI put in 22 members to participate in a charitable bowling tournament with all proceeds going to Relay for Life - American Cancer Society.

It was a great afternoon of fun for a worthy cause.

FSI Racing for the Cure 2012 2012 Race For The Cure
This event has become a perennial favorite for FSI, in part because so many of us have been impacted by friends and family battling breast cancer. Our 2012 team grew to 38 people, and we are encouraged at the amount raised by the Komen Foundation for a global cure for cancer.

Many thanks as always for the team members who came out, some of whom are pictured here.
2012 Dayspring 5K Run
FSI's latest 5K event, the Dayspring 5K. Proceeds for this annual event go to benefit a local school. FSI covers the entry fees of employees and their families to participate in these races whether they run, walk or crawl. Some even came away with medals for placing in their age group.

It's a great outreach to the community and a wonderful team-building experience.

FSI Team in Training 2011 Race for the Cure
FSI again sponsored a team for the 2011 Race for the Cure, and the team didn't disappoint. Over 30 participants showed up to tackle the 5K course, and as usual everyone had a great time on a beautiful spring day.

Organizers report an incredible 15,969 participants, including 631 different teams. FSI is pleased to be counted in that number.
20th Anniversary of Racing For The Cure
For the second year in a row, FSI sponsored a group of employees and friends on May 8, 2010, in support of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. This was a big year, marking the 20th anniversary of this stellar event, which drew a record number of nearly 17,000 participants and raised close to $2 million. With 24 participants, FSI was proud to be among the 640 teams that completed the 5K walk.     see more pictures...

FSI Make-A-Wish 5K Run Make-A-Wish 5K Run
A total of 27 FSI employees and friends joined in on October 17, 2009 for a 5K run sponsored by the Make-A-Wish foundation. Taking us through the historic Marietta Square district, the event was just one of many that occurred all over the country to raise money for children with terminal illnesses.

The event organizer noted that FSI had one of the largest number of participants in the event that drew an estimated 1,015 runners. Wish.org reports that as of the time of the event, over 184,000 wishes have been granted. FSI is proud to have had a small part in the next one.
Walking For The Cure
FSI sponsored a group of employees and friends on May 9, 2009, for a five-mile walk for a cure for breast cancer. Benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the event drew an estimated 15,000 and ultimately may raise as much as $1.8 million for breast cancer research and treatment.

News for Kids
Financial contributions to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's "News for Kids" programs help establish FSI as a partner in education.

This allows FSI to assist the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in their program to work with educators who use newspapers as one of many tools in promoting literacy. The program includes teaching materials, curriculum ideas, and online supplements.

FSI Helping Hands Helping Hands
FSI promotes a donation program to help this local charity with food, diapers and personal care items. We provide donation boxes in the company break rooms to encourage all employees to become active in donation efforts. The donations are gathered and delivered to Helping Hands on a regular basis. FSI also donated cases of diaper/baby wipe packets to the Helping Hands office to be given to new mothers as part of their packages.

Their time involves coordinating fundraising events such as dinners, walks, balls and speaking engagements.
