FSI recently participated in another blood drive, and this time we were able to bring in some fresh blood! Fresh as in FSI bringing in a new donor. One of FSI’s newest employees, Rhonda Willoughby, joined the group for our routine blood donations. This was Rhonda’s first time ever donating. She was a little nervous at first not knowing what to expect, but here’s what she had to say afterwards.
“I’m glad I did it. It felt good doing it and it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Donating gives you a good feeling inside, and I feel lucky to be a part of it. I don’t know what took me so long, but I’ll begin donating on a regular basis now, that’s for sure. Anyone who gets the chance should do it.”
Rhonda also has a family member with cancer who had a blood transfusion recently, so her donation helped make the donation personal knowing that her blood could help others one day just like her family member was helped by someone else. Keep in mind that your body is able to donate every 56 days. We do our best at FSI to go as a group every 56 days as often as we can, and we welcome you to join us. Find a blood drive near you and donate today (www.redcrossblood.org)!
FSI employees are encouraged to participate in community involvement throughout the year in both company and personal time. We appreciate the kit packing and Pick/Pack/Ship business our clients give to us, and we want to do what we can to help show that appreciation by giving back to the community with our time and money that our clients give to us. Thank you for helping make this possible.
