The last time I saw Sara Blakely was at a concert at Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia. When the concert ended I stood up, looked behind me, and saw her about three seats away. “Sara?” I exclaimed in surprise. She didn’t immediately recognize me, but she smiled when she saw my FSI shirt. After all, FSI had handled virtually all of the Spanx fulfillment almost from the time the product was invented.
That was several years ago. Now USA Today has reported that this mega fashion icon has made it to the Forbes list of billionaires. FSI certainly is proud of her in this enormous accomplishment. Besides Sara, only 1,225 people on the planet currently claim membership in that rarified club. With the world population passing the 7 billion mark a few weeks ago, that’s sayin’ something.
On the fulfillment side, Spanx has since consolidated numerous business units. We thoroughly enjoyed being their fulfillment partner for many years and look forward to seeing Sara and her team continue moving up the Forbes list. But while the kudos undoubtedly go to Spanx, I couldn’t help but think of the part FSI played in helping to launch the product in the early days. A growing number of FSI clients are discovering the same benefits of having a rock solid fulfillment partner that handles everything from customer service, pick/pack/ship of inventory, product returns, inventory management, ecommerce integration, and so much more.
The streamlined order processing technologies and online reporting make it easy for clients to manage their business with full visibility into what goes on in the fulfillment center. And that is a key component in allowing them to take their business to the next level, knowing they have someone behind them making them look good in front of their customers.
Congrats to all at Spanx!
